Hermesa is a London-based investment club dedicated to backing extraordinary female-founded startups at the early stage. Operating primarily as an angel syndicate, Hermesa brings together both new and experienced investors who are keen to deploy capital into promising ventures. Their core mission is to address the funding gap often faced by female entrepreneurs, providing not just capital but also a supportive network and expertise to help these businesses scale.

The club focuses its investments exclusively on UK-based, pre-seed and seed-stage businesses. Unlike traditional venture capital funds, Hermesa operates on a model where individual members contribute capital to deals. Members typically invest between £5,000 and £50,000 (approximately $6,350 to $63,500) per deal. Collectively, as a club, Hermesa aims to deploy between £100,000 and £500,000 into each selected startup, pooling the individual contributions of its members to form a significant early-stage investment.

Since its inception, Hermesa has demonstrated a strong commitment to its mission, having invested in 10 companies to date. The collective efforts of its members have resulted in over £1.5 million (approximately $1.9 million) being deployed into these female-led ventures. Beyond capital, Hermesa offers its portfolio companies access to a diverse network of investors with varied professional backgrounds, providing valuable mentorship and strategic guidance. This holistic approach aims to foster the growth and success of the startups they support, contributing to a more equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem.
