For over a decade, it was recognized as one of the largest venture firms in the United States, managing a substantial capital base that peaked at approximately $4.5 billion across multiple funds. The firm was particularly known for its early and growth-stage investments across diverse sectors, with a notable focus on clean technology, digital media, and information technology. Over its active investment period, VantagePoint made a significant impact, participating in 157 investments, with 49 of those as lead investor.

During its active investment period, VantagePoint backed a wide array of companies, aiming to support innovative technologies and disruptive business models.
